NDA UK Travel Fellowship 2023

NDA UK is pleased to announce the award of NDA UK Travel Fellowship to provide financial aid during the stay in UK to doctors from Nepal travelling to UK on a pre-approved short duration of clinical attachment, training, observership or fellowship in different NHS hospitals in the UK.

Benefits of the fellowship:

  1. Food and lodging expenses for the duration of 4 weeks (shorter or longer periods will be reviewed individually on case-to-case basis and according to availability of funds)

  2. Travel expenses within the UK for relevant courses (if necessary)

Pre-requisites for the application:

  1. Applicant must be a qualified doctor with Nepal Medical Council permanent registration

  2. Applicant must have pre-approved training/clinical attachment/observership/fellowship awarded by NHS hospital

  3. Applicant must have valid Nepalese Passport

  4. Applicant must be employed in a non-profit/Government hospital at the time of the application

  5. Curriculum Vitae (Maximum 3 A4 size page)

  6. Reference letter from Head of Department or Unit Chief of currently employed Hospital in Nepal

  7. Letter of request for the fellowship (Applicant should submit a pdf copy of Letter of request mentioning the reason for application in <300 words)

    The Letter of pre-approved training, Letter of request of fellowship and Reference letter from Nepal must be submitted to chairman@ndauk.org.uk and copied to secretary@ndauk.org.uk after submission of this online form.

    The application with incomplete submissions will not be considered for the fellowship.

    Result:

    The Result of the fellowship will be announced via email to the selected candidate. The name of the candidate will also be announced on this page after the selection process is completed.

    Terms and Conditions:

There will be a maximum of 2 awardees in a given year.

2023

Dr. Robin Kampung

Assistant Professor

Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care

Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), Jumla, Nepal.

Dr Kampung has been awarded the Travel Fellowship to cover the costs while he undergoes observership in anesthesia at the James Paget University Hospital in co-ordination with Dr Kamal Aryal (Chairman, NDA UK). He is starting his observership on 1st June 2023. His fooding and lodging has been funded with the travel fellowship.

2022

Dr Ritu Pradhan

National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Bir Hospital

Kathmandu, Nepal

Dr Pradhan was awarded the travel Fellowship in 2022 and she attended Hull Suture Centre for Simulation training under the collaboration between NDAUK and Hull Suture Centre with special mention to Prof Loubani at the centre. Her fooding, lodging and travel expenses were funded with the travel fellowship.
