NDA (UK ) life members Drs Shambhu Acharya, Bhawani Lekhak, Purna R Joshi and Ramesh Khoju have actively participated in 14th SANCON and ” Silver Jubilee ” celebration of Society of Anaesthesiologists Nepal (SAN) on 5th to 6th of April 2013 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The conference was well attended by delegates from Nepal, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and UK. Scientific meetings were well attended and presented.
In scientific sessions Dr Shambhu Acharya presented on “Acute Pain Management in Opioid Dependent Patients ” and ” Drug Errors in Anaesthetics”; Dr Purna R Joshi presented on ” Proximal Femoral Fracture in Elderly”; Dr Ramesh Khoju presented on ” Insulin : a novel role in management of calcium channel blocker overdose ” and ” Enhanced Recovery After Surgery: a multi disciplinary approach in colorectal surgery”.
In conference World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists representative Prof. Angela Enright talked about the ” LIFE BOX “. She also handed over 100 life boxes ( Peripheral Oxygen saturation monitoring machine) to SAN.
Department of Anaesthetics and Critical Care, TUTH, Maharajgung, Kathmandu organised one day course on “Advanced Life Support ” on 4th of April. A team from New Zealand, in collaboration with Department of Anaesthetics, Kathmandu Medial College also conducted a workshop on ” Ultrasound for Regional Analgesia and Anaesthesia” on 7th of April.
